This Sunday afternoon (12), Portugal visited the Switzerland at the Geneva Stadium for the fourth round of the Uefa Nations League in group 2 of league A. With a goal before the first minute of Seferovic, the Portuguese were surprised by a 1-0 defeat.
With just over 50 seconds into the game, Widmer crossed on the right wing for Seferovic to rise above the Portuguese defense and open the scoring for the home team.
In the 11th minute, Switzerland almost had the chance to extend, when Shaqiri tried to cross and the ball hit Nuno Mendes’ hand. The bid, however, was reviewed in VAR and canceled due to a foul in André Silva at the origin of the play.
Championship status
Portugal accumulated its first setback in the Nations League after the draw against Spain and dropped to second in the groupwith seven points. Switzerland remains in the bottombut now with their first three points.

The number 7, along with João Moutinho and Raphael Guerreiro, did not travel to Geneva for the last match of the Fifa date of June. The players were spared due to the physical strain of the season.
