According to Gal Gadot, James Gunn would indeed develop a third film “Wonder Woman” in which she will take over the role of the Amazon.
While James Gunn and Peter Safran are in the midst of an overhaul of the DC Cinematic Universe and recently announced the name of the actor who will play the next Superman, Gal Gadot expressed confidence in the future of Wonder Woman 3.
Asked by ComicBook.com for the promotion of the Netflix feature Agent Stone (before the SAG-AFTRA strike), the actress said that the new bosses of DC Studios were considering developing a third film devoted to the superheroine in the lasso with her.
“I love playing Wonder Woman. It’s a movie that’s really close to my heart. From what James and Peter have told me, we’re going to be developing a ‘Wonder Woman 3’ together..
We are going to develop together a “Wonder Woman 3”
Words that therefore suggest that, contrary to rumors announcing that Gal Gadot would no longer be the face of the Amazon in future DCU films, the Israeli actress would continue to play Wonder Woman, unlike Henry Cavill, ousted of the role of Superman. Note however that James Gunn and Peter Safran have not yet confirmed the information.
It is unknown to date if the director of the two previous opuses, Patty Jenkins, will be back to directing, but the latest news, the latter was no longer linked to the third part of the saga.
Gal Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 before having two films of her own: Wonder Woman in 2017 and Wonder Woman 1984 in 2021. The latter is also in the cast of Justice League and made a cameo in Shazam! The Rage of the Gods and The Flash.
Waiting to learn more about Wonder Woman 3the actress will be in the cast of the thrillerAgent Stone on Netflix from August 11 and will play the wicked stepmother of Snow White in the Disney live version scheduled for theaters on March 20, 2024.
