Wozniacki plays against Kimberly Birrell
Wozniacki will face qualifier Birrell in the first round of Montreal. It has been more than three and a half years since Wozniacki played her last game as a professional.
Today there are new faces at the top and the way the game is played has also changed to some extent. Reflecting on what comes next, Wozniacki feels she has achieved her goals and has “nothing to lose” upon her return: “At this stage of my career and many players who have been on the circuit for a long time, we know how to play our tennis and we know what we need to improve on.
But at the end of the day, it is largely a question of mind and in crucial moments, you have to be able to push yourself and give your best without fear of failure.
You have to take advantage of the opportunity that comes in front of you and try your luck. I am here I got nothing to lose. I have already achieved a lot in my career and have accomplished most of the goals I have set for myself,
But I’m here because I love competing. Wozniacki said, “I love the sport and I feel I still have a lot to give to tennis and doing it as a family makes it even more fun.”
