WTA Melbourne: Alicja Rosolska’s defeat in doubles. She was eliminated in the first round

Alicja Rosolska has not participated in singles tournaments for several years. The 36-year-old focused on the doubles game, where she is doing quite mediocre. In the first match of the new season, the Polish team played together with the Japanese Nao Hibino. The rivals of the Polish-Japanese duo were the Australian Monique Adamczak and the Chinese woman Xinyun Han.

The meeting started around 7.50 Polish time and it must be admitted that it was short, less than one hour. In the first set, the Australian-Chinese pair quickly broke through Rosolska and Hibino. At one point it was already 5-0 in games, but Poland and her partner managed to defend two set balls and tear at least one game. It didn’t do much, because Adamczak and Han left no illusions in the next game. They won to zero and in the whole set 6: 1.

In the second set, the rivals of the Polish-Japanese pair followed the blow. Initially, however, the competition was more even than in the first installment. It was 2: 2 in the games, but later the Australian in a duet with Chinese won the next four games (6: 2).

Two more Polish women will perform in pairs with foreign partners. On Wednesday, Katarzyna Piter and Czeszka Renata Voracova as well as Katarzyna Kawa and Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov from Spain will appear on the court.
