Xavi’s statements this Saturday. Técnico does not see age as an obstacle to signing the Pole, or any other player.
With another year on his contract with Bayern Munich, Lewandowski has been a hot topic in the market. The Polish striker still shines brightly on his way to 34 years and continues to be associated with Barcelona. Xavi, coach of the Catalans, spoke about one of the great goalscorers of European football and showed little concern about his age, even pointing to the example of Ronaldo.
“We signed Dani Alves at the age of 38. It’s not a matter of age, what matters is performance. The footballers take care of themselves and every year they are more professional. Each footballer is a world. Ibrahimovic, Modric, Dani Alves.. . Everyone has a very high performance in important clubs. Cristiano and Messi too. Age is not a priority. What matters is if we improve”, said Xavi, in the preview of the game with Getafe.
Morata, from Juventus, was also approached in the conversation with journalists. “Talking about players that aren’t ours is something that doesn’t interest me. The situation is what we have,” he replied.
