Xiaomi 12 Ultra with the same camera as its predecessor?

Xiaomi 12 Ultra today becomes the hero of surprising leaks – the smartphone will debut with the camera already known to us from Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, without any changes? Is it even possible?

The premiere of the Xiaomi 12 series, and more specifically the 12, 12X and 12 Pro models, is behind us. The end of December brought us the top flagship products of the Chinese manufacturer, but this is not the end of the news.

Awesome Xiaomi 12 Ultra is getting closer

In the queue, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the most powerful model in the family, is still waiting for its debut. Last year, the manufacturer surprised us with the unique design of the Ultra model – there is an additional auxiliary screen on its back.

This year, leaks so far have informed about important changes. The additional screen would give way to the round, largest smartphone camera module on the market:

See what the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will look like live. Gods, what a monster it is!

However, not only the size of the smartphone’s camera island may be a surprise, but also its photographic capabilities – apparently not much will change.

According to the latest reports from the reliable DigitalChatStation leakster, Xiaomi 12 Ultra would be equipped with … the same camera sensors as its predecessor. So it means the presence of three sensors: 50 MP + 48 MP (wide angle) + 48MP (periscope telephoto).

Such a scenario seems really unlikely – after all, Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the most advanced flagship of the manufacturer. Could it be that Xiaomi would make up his mind just for a change of design? I don’t know about you, but I find it very doubtful.

So it remains to wait for the next reports, which – hopefully – will contradict today’s news. Flagship working on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 does not reveal too many details – there are still a few weeks to the premiere.
