Xiaomi Watch S1 debuted quite recently, and the manufacturer takes care of the development of the device from the very beginning. Can this convince you to buy a watch?
A few days ago, we wrote about the premiere of the latest smartphones: Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X. Next to them, the Xiaomi Watch S1 also made its debut, which was to be a response to the needs of technological freaks in an elegant edition.
From the very beginning, however, there are mixed opinions, mainly due to no ECG and eSIM, as well as the price (approx. 700 PLN net). However, the manufacturer is trying his best to encourage users to his product – the latest Xiaomi watches from the Watch S1 series have just received support for new applications, and one of them allows you to play audiobooks.
In addition to the Lanren audiobooks application, which is to be an alternative to Amazon Audible, another 10 applications have hit the watch, and the most important are Wangyi Music Streaming (the Chinese equivalent of Spotify), Wannianli Calendar, and the Mint Health health monitoring application.
It all seems to be well tailored to the user in China, but it is not known how it will work on foreign markets. Personally, I do not think that the audiobook application could convince me to buy a watch that does not differ much in functionality from cheaper sports bands.
The undoubted advantage of Xiaomi Watch S1, however, is his classic and elegant look, AMOLED display as well as NFC. But is it enough? A lot depends on the final price, as well as the functionality that the Global version will receive. We will certainly learn more about it in the near future.
