As we have already reported, the known leaker The Real Insider was unmasked: behind the anonymity there was the YouTuber Dan Allen, who simply shared information received from publishers in advance, despite having signed a nondisclosure agreement. Now, however, we discover that some of the leaks he shared were simply made up. Precisely, he had invented the rumors about the remakes of Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill.
The Real Insider had shared correct information about Forspoken and the new Assassin’s Creed games, prior to the announcement of the Ubisoft Forward. However, he did not stop there and also shared information on Konami’s projects, stating that they would be shown soon, precisely at a PlayStation event.
Now, however, we have found that Dan Allen simply had invented such information, putting them in the midst of real leaks. The YouTuber has decided to break agreements to seek fame (even if anonymous) and we are therefore not surprised to find that he was ready to invent information just to generate hype.
Of course, the fact that his claims were false doesn’t mean such projects don’t exist. There has been talk for a long time about new Silent Hill and the return of Metal Gear Solid in remake / remaster format. Dan Allen simply used public interest in the topic to draw attention to his leaker tweets.
A first hint ofinaccuracy of his tweets however, it had already arrived: as you know, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid were not shown at the recent State of Play or even at the Tokyo Game Show, questioning the veracity of what was revealed.
It sounds strange to say, but we have to hope that other known leakers are more honest than The Real Insider.
