Zeman: Army of the Czech Republic ready to be sent to Poland. “As your neighbor and ally”

The President of the Czech Republic, MiIosz Zeman, in a letter addressed to President Andrzej Duda, proposed to send Czech soldiers to the Polish-Belarusian border. He emphasized that Poland defends the border between the European Union and the NATO member state.

“I follow the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border very carefully, which results from the bad intentions of those who do not hesitate to use the misfortune of others for their own benefit – as the president of the (Czech) Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as a citizen, your neighbor and ally “Zeman wrote in a letter published by his law firm on Tuesday.

He noted that the decision to send armed forces outside the country for up to 60 days rested with the government. The condition must be that this is done in the framework of fulfilling obligations under international treaties on joint defense against attack.
