The liver is an essential organ in our body that aids digestion, metabolism, and overall health. Adopting good habits can help you keep a healthy liver, and it is essential to cleanse this vital organ. When it comes to cleansing or detoxification, it all boils down to the food or nutrients required to support detoxification regularly.

Eliminating pollutants and replenishing your body can help protect you from disease and restore your ability to sustain good health. While you might have a lot of drinks and supplements over the counter that claim to cleanse your liver within days. But you should develop a healthy diet to lead a good life. Here are a few foods that help you in the detoxification of the liver.

Turmeric- It is used as both a spice and a medicinal ingredient in the country. Turmeric has curcumin which helps the liver in a variety of ways. It detoxifies and cleanses the liver while also safeguarding it against fibrosis, non-alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, acute and chronic liver injuries, and cirrhosis.

Garlic- Root vegetables have sulphur compounds that are necessary for the liver to nourish and activate enzymes responsible for eliminating toxins and waste from the body.

Whole grains- Processed food limits the liver’s cleansing ability, and to keep your body system cleansed and detoxified, one should limit the consumption of processed foods. Instead, choose healthy alternatives such as whole grains, which are high in detoxifying minerals like vitamin B, phosphorus, manganese, and magnesium. Whole grains, such as brown rice, are high in selenium, which helps protect the liver.

Fruits- They are equally beneficial for stimulating the liver. Fruits, whether raw or juiced, are beneficial for the liver. Citrus fruits not only stimulate the liver but also aid in the production of harmful substances into forms that may be absorbed by water.

Dry Fruits- Almonds, peanuts, and sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin E. According to studies, vitamin E serves as an antioxidant, reducing the effects of oxidative stress linked to a variety of liver illnesses. Walnuts are high in omega-3 fatty acids, and glutathione, which help cleanse the liver.
