The incident took place on November 14. During the match Cuprum Czciradz – Piast Parkovia Trzebiechów. Specifically, in the 26th minute of the match, when referee Wojciech Ganczar called a penalty kick. This disliked the hosts’ player, who approached the referee and spat in his face. – I know reports from this event from various sources and I can say unequivocally that what happened is a scandal – said Paweł Horożaniecki three weeks ago, chairman of the Żarsko-Żagań Subcollegium of Referees of the Lubuskie Football Association.
“How long can you endure the violence that comes across judges?”
The case was already described on TVP Sport three weeks ago by the former international judge and expert Rafał Rostkowski. with Horożaniecki. – Judge Wojciech Ganczar is a good boy. I feel sorry for him. He is a class A judge, but it is absolutely impossible to say that he is a poor judge. On the contrary, he is one of the leading referees at this level of competition. It has some features that distinguish it positively. We hope that Wojciech will not resign from refereeing, although many people resign after much smaller incidents than the unpleasantness that happened to him. He is tough, very resistant, but how long can you endure the violence that comes across judges? – asked rhetorically Horożaniecki, who even demanded lifelong disqualification for the player insulting the arbitrator.

Rostkowski now informs that the penalty is much smaller, as is the brief and very general justification of it, which was published by Lubuski ZPN: “Blatant unsportsmanlike behavior, violation of bodily inviolability”.
This justification includes a fine, the amount of which has not been disclosed, and a three-year disqualification for the competitor. – I do not know how to comment on it, so maybe I will not comment – says judge Ganczar on TVP Sport, and then adds that he does not quite know why he was called by the Discipline Department at all. – After all, I described everything that happened in the report and in the appendix. There were witnesses, assistant judges, and other people, and the description of the events in the appendix was also confirmed by the manager of the visiting team with his signature. But since I was called, I came. I was only asked if I confirmed what I wrote and if I was supporting that I was spit. Of course, I confirmed and upheld it. Other witnesses also confirmed this.
“We don’t want to be associated with violence in football”
The incident did not appeal to the director of one of the companies sponsoring Lubuski ZPN, who already a week ago in an interview with TVP Sport could not understand why everything takes so long. – We will contact the authorities of the Lubuskie Football Association, we will convey to them our disapproval for delaying the decision on the referee’s spitting, because in such situations quick reactions are needed. Their lack is associated with indulgence for phenomena that we do not accept – he said.
And he added: – We do not want to be associated with violence in football or such incidents as spitting at a referee. This is damnable and requires decisive action. We do not tolerate such incidents. I am dissatisfied with this situation and we will respond to it.
– Such a punishment does not change my plans. I will take the case to court. It was not a mere violation of bodily integrity. It was a spit. Right in the face. In the face of the judge – says Ganczar.
“Gazeta Wyborcza” reminds that this is not the only controversial issue that negatively affects the image of the Polish Football Association. In November, the country announced that the president of the union did not agree to postpone the matches of the fourth league team of Czarny Żagań, although the team ceased to exist overnight. The ten footballers are professional soldiers who went to the Polish-Belarusian border.
