African Cup of Nations: Tunisian and Mali players summoned to finish the game 25 minutes after the final whistle

The great confusion about the African Cup of Nations match between Tunisia and Mali (0: 1) did not end with the players leaving the field.

Wednesday’s match of group F PNA 2021 had an unusual ending. Referee Janny Sikazwe finished the game in the 86th minute, making the losing Tunisians furious. After a few minutes, the Zambian person reflected and resumed the meeting, but … not long after, he used the final whistle again prematurely. It is true that only a dozen or so seconds remain until the end of the 90th minute, but he did not add any additional game time, which should appear due to many breaks.

The whole situation did not end there. African Football Confederation officials came to the press conference of Mali national team manager Mohamed Magassouba, announcing that the match would resume. Fans quickly began to return to the stands of the stadium in Limbe, Cameroon.

About 25 minutes after the last whistle, the Malians appeared on the pitch, wanting to play the game. However, it was in vain to look for Tunisians who refused to return.

After that, Tunisia coach Mondher Kebaier called Sikazwe’s behavior inexplicable. In his opinion, the judge should add seven or eight minutes immediately.

At the moment it is not known what the final case will be. Information appeared suggesting that the Tunisians did not come onto the pitch because they want to try to play the whole match again, arguing that the referee ended the match early.
