Barranquilla, Colombia.- Shakira had an amazing gesture to Barranquilla, her hometown, after having donated 50 thousand masks for the medical staff who fight against the coronavirus, as well as 10 respirators.
Jaime Pumarejo, the mayor of the city, expressed through social networks the “love” and “solidarity” that the colombian singer has to his city and thanked him for the help.
Thanks to you and the staff of the Mayor’s office for their work, to the hands barranquilleras that I’m proud of making face masks to protect our at-risk population and for that message full of affection,” replied Shakira.
The cargo will help more than 2 thousand 500 physicians, nurses and other workers that are part of the network of local health.
Also, the respirators will be installed in the intensive care unit of the university hospital Adelita de Char.
