Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter has, as we know, led to several celebrities leaving the platform, but while the likes of Shonda Rhimes have so far only threatened to do so, others have actually decided to leave the platform. Among them Amber Heard, who shared a relationship with Elon Musk between 2017 and 2018. For a few days now, her handle, @RealAmberHeard, is, in fact, no longer present in the search engine of the social network, letting us understand that the actress has actually opted for account deletion.
Amber Heard had been a Twitter subscriber since 2017, and it’s clear that her former relationship with Elon Musk has somewhat prompted the actress to step back now that the billionaire has taken over Twitters around the world. Over the summer, the actress had tweeted that she had lost the defamation case against her ex-husband Johnny Depp without hiding the bitterness and resentment that the judges’ decision had brought on her: “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I am heartbroken that the mountain of evidence was not yet enough to stand up to the power, disproportionate influence of my ex-husband,” Heard tweeted in June.
From that moment on, Heard’s life and career changed profoundly. After declaring bankruptcy, Admitting that she was unable to pay Depp the repayment that the court had ordered her to pay, Amber Heard moved to a small town of 1,000 people near Mallorca, Spain. A way to protect her privacy and detoxify her, together with her one and a half year old daughter Oonagh Paige (born thanks to a surrogacy), from the media storm that sucked her in during the spring of 2022 and which brought close to nervous breakdown.
