Apple announces a decline in sales of iPhones 13

Apple informed business partners about the decline in sales of iPhones 13. Interestingly, this information appeared at a time when the estimates indicated a growing number of deliveries of smartphones by the American manufacturer.

iPhones 13 don’t have an easy life. Some time ago, Apple reduced the production of smartphones by 10 million due to the shortage of semiconductors, a crisis that affected the entire technology industry, and as if that were not enough, now Bloomberg revealed that the sale of devices is worse than assumed by the manufacturer. The company from Cupertino sent a signal to component suppliers that this year’s flagship products are not very popular among consumers. As a consequence, orders for telephone components will be reduced. However, there is an option that the situation will improve before Christmas itself, as customers will go to the stores to buy gifts for their loved ones.

Apple informed its suppliers about the decline in sales of iPhones 13.

We would like to remind you that Apple intended to produce 90 million copies of the iPhone 13 in 2021, but this plan was brutally verified and expectations were reduced to 80 million models. Apple wanted to make up for the shortage in 2022 when supplies recovered, according to Bloomberg, but the company eventually gave it up. At the time of release, the available iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models quickly sold out, and the company was working intensively to increase the supply of smartphones. In October, Apple CEO Tim Cook admitted that the restrictions on the supply of iPhones and Mac computers cost the giant US $ 6 billion, while the troubles on the market were to last until December.

On the other hand, the Chinese were crazy about the 13 iPhones. According to Counterpoint, Apple in October became the leader of the Chinese market thanks to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. Month-to-month sales increased by 46%, while the entire market recorded a 2% growth. In January this year, OPOO was number one in the Middle Kingdom. We will see if interest in the iPhone 13 will increase in the coming months, although Bloomberg reports that 60% of users want to wait out the current generation.
