Jason Schreier’s discovery for Bloomberg is admitted by Ubisoft: here are the details
Update 15:00 – Ubisoft has published a post on its official website to confirm the rumors leaked this morning and to announce the new cross-studio structure that will take care of Assassin’s Creed from now on.
This “new cross-studio collaborative structure will be led by Marc-Alexis Côté, who will executive produce the Assassin’s Creed franchise .”
Côté is one of the founding members of Ubisoft Quebec and has been in the series since Brotherhood, serving as the creative director of Syndicate.
Each studio between Quebec and Montreal will have its own creative director: Jonathan Dumont (world director of Syndicate and creative director of Odyssey ) and Clink Hocking ( Far Cry 2, Watch Dogs Legion ).
Infinity has been confirmed as the code name for “the project in early development” :
“Rather than continuing to pass the torch from game to game, we deeply believe this is an opportunity for one of Ubisoft’s most beloved franchises to evolve into a more integrated and collaborative way that is less focused on studies and more focused on talent and talent. leadership “.
“At a later date” will be provided updates on what’s coming for Assassins’ Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Infinity.
Original News: Assassin’s Creed Infinity was unveiled today by a Jason Schreier report for Bloomberg and confirmed by a Ubisoft spokesperson.
While the details aren’t official yet, we have the first details on what the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla heir will look like.
We had only discovered a few weeks ago of an Assassin’s Creed 13 already in the pipeline and thought to be even bigger than Valhalla.
Since then, traditional discussions have been sparked about what the title’s main setting would be.
NEW: The future of Assassin’s Creed is live service. Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec have teamed up for Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a huge platform planned to have multiple settings. But after the reorg, several men accused of abuse remain in charge. My latest: https://t.co/fre2ljvh8g

Apparently, though, Ubisoft is taking a slightly different direction for the upcoming game after Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be an evolving platform with multiple settings, both in terms of location and historical era.
The platform is inspired by Fortnite and GTA Online and has Ubisoft Quebec and Montreal busy right now.
The two development teams have so far alternated in the development of new chapters, however, in April they would have been unified.
“Now they collaborate on Infinity and each will have their own creative director, but Quebec will take the lead in the franchise, “ reads the reconstruction.
“There have long been rivalries between the two studies that have been bitter at times, (…) so this change could cause some headaches.”
The leak provided by Schreier was recognized by a spokesperson for the company, as specified in the Bloomberg article :
“A Ubisoft spokesperson refused to discuss the details of Infinity but acknowledged its existence. Ubisoft aims to “exceed the expectations of fans who have asked for a more cohesive approach” to the series ».
Assassin’s Creed Infinity (which for now is to be considered a code name) is still in a planning phase and plans could change in the running, and it is no coincidence that for the launch we are talking about 2024 if not beyond.
As explained by Schreier, it could be a kind of hub that would allow users to play big and small AC titles.
These games will be connected to each other in some way (perhaps like Call of Duty Warzone and the annual chapters, via Battle Pass and map integrations?), While still having a distinct look and gameplay.
One note from the reporter is that several men involved in the Ubisoft sex scandals remained at the helm of the project, as the developers allegedly complained in internal forums.
On the more strictly playful theme, however, this decisive turn of the franchise in a service game sense explains why the life of Valhalla has been extended by a year (for the first time in the history of the saga).
It is certain that, in any case, no particular surprise can be expressed for such a maneuver, considering that great satisfaction had just been expressed for the long-lived RPG formula.
