“There is currently no suspicion of a third party,” DPA Prosecutor Gernot Bantleon said on Sunday.
On Saturday, in a detached house in Koenigs Wusterhausen south of Berlin, the police found a family of five dead: a mother, father (both aged 40) and three daughters. The girls were four, eight and ten years old.
Only a small dog survived the tragedy – writes the daily “Bild” on Sunday.
On Saturday, around 12 o’clock, “the neighbors notified the police because it went very quiet in the house on Birkenallee. No one was taking the dog for a walk. The three girls were also not playing on a quiet neighborhood street by Lake Kruepel, as usual,” the daily reports.
Police officers arrived at the scene and found the bodies of five people. Gunshot and stab wounds were visible on the bodies. “Apparently they’ve all been dead for several days. Some time ago this neighbor thought he heard a gunshot.”
“Police have not yet confirmed that the 40-year-old father killed his wife, children and then himself. The background is still completely unclear,” writes “Bild”. According to the newspaper, both parents worked as teachers. The family was reportedly quarantined at home due to coronavirus infection.
