Her name was Nika Shakaramiwas 17, and lost her life “after being chased by the police” in Iran. Traces of her young woman had been lost for days, until her parents found her body in the morgue of a prison in Tehran. Nika, according to her relatives, had a smashed nose and a smashed head. Iran, another young victim during the Mahsa Amini protests
Nika Shakarami had disappeared from 20 September: she was in the capital to participate in the demonstrations. According to what an aunt explained to BBC Persian, in her last message, her 17-year-old told a friend that she was “chased by the security forces“. Since that day, all traces of him have been lost. Then on September 30, his parents found his body in a Tehran morgue.
The aunt said that the relatives were not given permission to approach the body, but they managed to see his disfigured face, with a broken nose and a damaged skull. As if that were not enough, Nika’s body was taken by the security forces and buried in the village of Veysian, far from Khorramabad, where the young woman lived.
