According to statistics from the website “Bets”, Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo is the most influential athlete in the sport worldwide. The 37-year-old Manchester United forward remains one of the biggest names in the sport thanks to his performance and longevity. The study reveals that the dude is the most searched sports star globally – and by some distance.

On average, CR7’s name is searched 11 million times a month. That’s nearly five million more than the runner-up, which is football player Ryan Ramczyk (6.1 million searches per month).

Brazilian Neymar, from PSG, appears in third place, with the number of 5.8 million searches per month, in a list that includes other legends of the sport, such as Lebron James – the only name in the NBA –, Tom Brady, Lewis Hamilton, among other figures.

As for Cristiano Ronaldo’s longtime rival Lionel Messi, the Argentine footballer is only in fifth place, adding up to 4.8 million searches per month.
