Cruella is a new Disney acting show based on the studio’s popular animation. The project tells about the genesis of the title antagonist, very well known to fans of animations from the film 101 Dalmatians. The protagonist of the production is Estella, who wants to become a world-famous fashion designer. However, fate takes her to darker regions and years later the girl deals with petty crimes on the streets of London along with her companions. By chance, the heroine finds herself in the world of the rich and famous, and a rock star orders her to create an outfit for herself. This could be a chance for Estella to break out.
An acting film about Cruella cannot do without extravagant costumes. New photos were published on the pages of Entertainment Weekly, presenting some of the creations of the title character, and the article focuses on the visual elements of Disney’s production. Oscar winner Jenny Beavan is responsible for the costumes. Mention is also made of the London set design and aesthetics of the 1970s, which was important to the creators. Fiona Crombie is responsible for this element. See photos published by EW (first three):
The cast includes Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, and Mark Strong. Directed by Craig Gillespie.
Cruella – premiere in the US on May 28 in cinemas and at Disney + Premier Access.
