Design Director Cyberpunk 2077 leaves CD Projekt. He worked in the company for over 15 years

About your decision the developer announced on Twitter a few days ago – in a post referring to one of the witcher stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, Kanik said that he had left the studio and started working as a freelancer. However, this fact has only now been noticed by one of the Reddit users, and the information about the departure can also be found on the developer’s LinkedIn.

Mateusz Kanik worked at CD Projekt od December 2006 and participated in the creation of all three main installments of The Witcher (first as Game Designer, and later Gameplay Designer). Of course, he also created Cyberpunk 2077 – in 2012 he stayed Game Director, and from 2016 he performed the function Design Director. The developer did not give a reason for leaving the Warsaw-based company, but taking into account that worked at CD Projekt for over 15 years, the desire to change is understandable.

It remains to wait for further announcements regarding Kanik’s future plans, and by the way, we would like to remind you that since the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekcie has experienced several reshuffles as far as long-term employees are concerned. The following departed from the Warsaw studio:

She also left the company Hollie Bennett, the head of British PR, who worked at CD Projekt for 2.5 years, and Adam Badowski ceased to be the director of Cyberpunk 2077 (his place was taken by Gabriel Amatangelo).

At the same time, we invite you to listen to the latest episode of the podcast Technically Thing Taking. This time we talked about electricity prices, the growing nuclear power near the Polish border and how many of us know that the reactor has been operating near Warsaw for several dozen years.
