Disaster off the English coast. At least 30 migrants died

At least 33 migrants have died off the coast of the English Channel, French authorities say. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he is “shocked” by the news.

A group of migrants tried to get from France to Great Britain. At some point, however, the pontoon in which they were traveling capsized. At the moment, a rescue operation is underway, in which both the French and British services are involved.

French authorities say that at least 33 people have died, but this number may increase significantly. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin he said that two people who were traveling on the dinghy were saved. This is possibly the greatest disaster that has ever happened off the English coast.

French fishermen informed about the accident, who saw an empty pontoon and a dozen bodies in the water.
