Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are married and are currently promoting their new joint film A Quiet Place, which receives great reviews from critics. During one of the interviews, the couple were asked about their attitude towards Marvel films. Recall that they both tried for the main roles – she as Black Widow and he as Captain America. As it turns out, the actors do not regret that in the end they were not selected and joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On the contrary – they are even happy about it. As Blunt says:
I don’t think that then I would have been able to do all the projects that I was eager to work on. I think this vision of not being able to choose what I want would be nerve-wracking for me. My choices are often all I have, and you couldn’t plan anything else here. It’s impossible to predict what will happen, what will work and what will not, so if I can decide for myself – and not just because I have a contract – I find it exciting.
John Krasinski adds:
I don’t think it would have come into existence then Quiet place. There are some pluses, and Chris Evans seems to be having a great time in this role. I love him, he’s a good friend of mine. And the movies themselves are great and I watch them with pleasure (…) Let life take us where it wants, and I would never be there now if I chose the role of Captain America.
We’ll see Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson later this month against Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on April 26.
