Emotions “Fathers and daughters” directed by Gabriele Muccino with a cast full of stars

1980s, New York. Jake Davis, an established novelist, loses his wife in a tragic accident and finds himself having to raise his little daughter Katie alone. He tries to do it in the best way but he also has to deal with a serious mental disorder. Time passes: twenty-five years later Katie is a very beautiful girl, lives in Manhattan and hasn’t seen her father for a long time. Unable to surrender to love, Katie grapples with the demons of her tormented childhood, constantly on the run from “life.”

It will be broadcast tonight at 11pm on Rai Movie Fathers and daughters directed by Gabriele Muccino (2015). Over a 25-year narrative span, the film tells the relationship between a father and a daughter. A love story that takes place on two chronologically distant but parallel planes, moving back and forth in time. In the cast: Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe (also executive producer), Bruce Greenwood, Diane Kruger, Aaron Paul, Quvenzhané Wallis, Janet McTeer, Jane Fonda, Octavia Spencer.

Fourth American job, later The pursuit of happiness, Seven souls And What I know about love for Gabriele Muccino, who, once again, brings together big names in overseas cinema on the set, including 3 Academy Awards: Crowe, Fonda, Spencer.

The Italian director was chosen to direct the film during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival; to sign the story is the playwright Brad Desch, on his first screenplay for the cinema, included in black list of 2012. The music is by Paolo Buonvino.
