EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 KINGPIN with record GPU clock speed

According to the latest news, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN graphics card will have two 12-pin power connectors. It is a new standard that complies with the PCIe 5.0 interface, which is to consist of twelve normal pins and four optional data paths. We do not know yet what this solution will be called, but there is a good chance that it will be fully compatible with the 12-pin NVIDIA (Molex Microfit 3.0) connector used in existing Ampere graphics cards.

The dual 12-pin power connector means that in theory the new EVGI graphics card will be able to use up to 1275W of power. For comparison, the 3x 8-pin configuration often found in high-end systems means that the card will take a maximum of 525 W. This probably best illustrates which monster the RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN promises to be, although of course it is difficult to imagine that someone would fully use such a potential … In addition, it is said that the existing Hydro Copper water blocks for the RTX 3090 KINGPIN will not be compatible with the new model, and the product is generally expected to be even more expensive than the model without the Ti-mark (which in turn is to be discounted). So it promises to be an interesting premiere. We hope to see the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti presentation at CES 2022.
