from books to cinema, from comics to video games – Savonanews.it

There was a historical period in which vampires began to have a great importance in popular culture again. Starting with movies, passing through television series, cartoons and continuing with books and video games, it was almost impossible not to hear about these strange mythological beings who love to suck blood from the neck of their lenses.

We are talking about the second half of the 2000s when the cornerstone of this world was obviously the Saga of Twilightwhich saw the production of five films between 2008 and 2012 in which the protagonist is Bella Swan (aka Kristen Stewart), a young seventeen-year-old girl who falls in love with Edward Cullen (aka Robert Pattinson), the youngest and charming of a vampire family.

Among the older films, however, there is the award-winning Interview with the Vampire released in 1994 and directed by Neil Jordan, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1992, curated by Franz Rubel Kuzui, from which a seven-season television series was then produced and produced between 1997 and 2003. The oldest, and perhaps even best known of all, is the silent film Nosferatu which this year celebrates 100 years since its creation.

Speaking instead of animated films, among the most recent we cannot fail to mention the three films by Hotel Transylvaniareleased in 2012, 2015 and 2018 and produced by Sony and Columbia Pictures.

Looking at the small screen, there are several series produced in this area. In addition to the one already mentioned above, there are among the closest to the present day True Blood of 2008, with 80 episodes produced and divided into seven seasons, e The Vampire Diaries of the following year, which boasts 171 episodes in eight seasons.

As far as the videogame world is concerned, there are two fronts: that of online games and that of console videogames. Starting from the first, there are several slot machines that see these mythological characters as protagonists, and they are also playable on slotmachineweb.com.

One such title is Immortal Romance, a supernatural love story in the form of a 5-reel, 243-payline slot. Contains bonuses that bring the win multiplier up to 50x. Another game is Night Vampire, a 5-reel, 15-line slot featuring vampires, horses, brides and bats. There are free spins and multipliers up to 1000x.

There are also those we are talking about today Blood Suckers, a game that aims to kill the vampires on the reels. The latter are 5 and accompany 25 payment lines, with the possibility of multiplying the bet amount up to 1,000x.

Vampire-based video games are also numerous. Some of these range from the most dated Castlevania, which counts almost forty springs, to the most recent The Elder Scrolls IV And V. (Oblivion and Skyrim). Not even missing in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Then there are books and comics that tell of events related to this supernatural world. Of these there are some titles made entirely in Italy, such as Dampyrcreated in 2000 by Mauro Boselli and Maurizio Colombo, and even more famous Dylan Dogwhich in several numbers featured a vampire.

From a literary point of view, examples are not absent, but the most famous of all is that of Dracula by Bram Stoker, dating back to the 19th century. The novel takes up the exploits of Vlad III, prince of Wallachia and is set between Transylvania and England.

With regard to vampires, therefore, there is freedom of choice in case you want to relive mythological and terrifying adventures, mostly set in the gloomy castles of Eastern Europe.
