Gabriel Slonina accepted the invitation to participate in the training camp for the US national team.
The second youngest player contracted by a club from Major League Soccer in history is closely watched by envoys from the Polish Football Association in the context of a possible future game for our national team.
However, the 17-year-old goalkeeper has so far only played in the US youth national team and may soon be given a chance to make his senior debut, as he is among the players appointed by coach Gregg Berhalter for the next friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina (December 19).
Gabriel Slonina himself informed about receiving this ennoblement via social media.
“I am extremely grateful to be able to represent the US senior team. It would not be possible without my family, coaches and fans who push me forward every day. Now the work begins, ‘wrote the goalkeeper.
A possible appearance in the aforementioned duel does not exclude Poland’s chances of taking over a talented player due to FIFA regulations (he must play in a match for points or at a continental / international tournament), but looking at his attitude, nothing indicates that he should be at all interested in representing “Biało-Czerwonych”.
The 17-year-old, a native of the United States, played eleven Chicago Fire matches last season with four clean sheets.
