The issue of Gosens’ low use is one of the hottest at Inter. Yet, as the Gazzetta dello Sport writes, Simone Inzaghi in January voted loudly for the arrival of the German, much preferred by Kostic, today at Juventus, who also liked the Nerazzurri managers:
“The intuition of Gosens, an operation greeted with widespread enthusiasm at the time, came from the sporting director Piero Ausilio, who understood that with Atalanta it would not be impossible to close a deal. Those were the days when Inter, at the same time, had also started some discussions with Eintracht for Kostic, today at Juventus. TO January, among the Nerazzurri, no one believed more realistically in Perisic’s confirmation. Here: in those weeks Inzaghi pushed a lot for the arrival of another outsider. He also did it publicly, making it clear that he had an open role. And then he confidently expressed his preference for Gosens. The German, much more than Kostic, who even the Nerazzurri management liked (…). And if, still today, the German is not a starter, it is also here due to a precise choice of the coach. That evidently, for different reasons, the player must have changed his mind“.
