If for James Gunn the end of filming for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was exciting, for Zoe Saldana probably it was even more so. The film, due out next May, will in fact be the last in which the actress will play Gamora, adopted daughter of supervillain Thanos.
At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel fans learned about Gamora’s future: Zoe Saldana’s character will return in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for the last time. In the film, set against the backdrop of the shocking events of Avengers: Endgame and subsequent adventures of the Guardians in Thor: Love and Thunderthe team is together again and will see one new variant of Gamora. The latter, sacrificed to obtain the Soul Stone in Avengers: Infinity WarsShe is back.
In a recent interview for Entertainment Weekly, Saldana told of the his adventure on the set and his feelings about a character now destined to ‘end‘: “Filming started bitterly, but I’m so happy that once again I was able to work with great people“, adding:”I have witnessed an evolution of myself, my director and my cast. I felt very lucky and grateful. It was a very sweet farewellI have to say“.
