Apple TV +, the newborn on-demand streaming service of the Cupertino company, has published on YouTube the first official Hala trailer, among the first feature films that will be available for subscribers to the platform.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2019 and will be released in selected cinemas from November 22nd. Those who have an Apple TV + subscription, on the other hand, will be able to see it on the streaming service from December 6th.
The plot follows the Pakistani teenager Hala (played Geraldine Viswanathan), a seventeen-year-old who struggles to balance the desire to live a life full of experiences with her family, cultural and religious duties. While trying to collect new experiences, he discovers a secret that threatens to destroy the balance of his family.
Written and directed by Minhal Baig, Hala is also curated by Jada Pinkett Smith, accredited as an executive producer. In October, the film was also presented at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it was greeted with rave reviews. In the film also Gabriel Luna, recently seen in Terminator: Dark Destiny.
