The name is the historical one, but the project is totally new. The engine is now a 92 horsepower twin-cylinder, the aesthetics are always sporty and the weight is no more than 190 kg with a full tank. Data and price

C.with the Hornet series, the 600 in particular in Italy, Honda has been able to create a real phenomenon among naked of medium displacement starting from 1998. The latest edition of the CB600 Hornet was on sale until 2013, and the CB650Fwhich became more recently CB650R – in the Neo Sports Cafè family – and always with the in-line four-cylinder engine.
Now the Hornet name returns with a brand new 2023 model: the CB750 Hornet.
THEThe project is unprecedented and is based on a new two-cylinder in-line engine unit of 755 cc which will equip a new model series, new Transalp including.
THEl design, signed by Giovanni Dovis of the Honda R&D in Rome, proposes stylistic elements of the Hornet 600 creating an ideal common thread with the past. The forms are in general slimmer and slimmer linesangular and loaded on the front with a greater dynamic effect.
Frame and fork sliders are colored in cherry red and characterize the proposed colors, which are: Pearl Glare White with Metallic Red Flame frame and Red anodized fork, Graphite Black with Metallic Red Flame frame and Red anodized fork, Matte Iridium Gray Metallic and Mat Goldfinch Yellow with painted frame of black.
The price is set in 7,990 euros ex-dealer, an interesting quotation in relation to the displacement and performance.
THEThe engine is the result of a new project, it is a two-cylinder in line of 755 cc (87×63.5 mm) which delivers the power of 92 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and the maximum torque of 75 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The latest Hornet 600 provided 102 horsepower at 12,000 rpm and 64 Nm at 10,500 rpm.
The new twin-cylinder, with 25% more displacement, will therefore have a more favorable torque and a power, albeit lower, more easily exploitable in road use.
The distribution, as on the Africa Twin engine, is of type Unicam: single shaft and 8 valves. That is, with the intake valves driven directly by the camshaft and with the exhaust valves operated by rocker arms.
The embellishment is a 270 °, also in this case as on the Africa Twin engine, which gives a more distinctive noise and, at least in theory, better torque. A countershaft balancing keeps vibrations at bay.
Throttle By Wire
LThe electronic equipment is based onelectronic accelerator Throttle By Wire which includes four Riding Modes (one of which is customizable) that operate with the three levels of traction control HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control, integrated with the anti wheelie) and three levels of adjustment of the power he was born in engine brake.
THEThe frame is a diamond structure in steel pipes and sheetin the same material is the swingarm. The suspension uses the upside-down fork Showa 41mm SFF ‑ BPTM (130mm travel) and Showa monoshock with progressive linkage Pro-Link and wheel travel of 150 mm.
The double 296 mm front disc has a wave profile e radial mount calipers with four pistons. The 17-spoke light alloy wheels are fitted with tires in 120/70 and 160/60 sections.
With wheelbase of 1,420 mmheight saddle of 795 and 15.2-liter tank, the CB750 Hornet has a declared curb weight and with a full tank of 190 kg.
Un display 5 inch color TFT constitutes the instrumentation, allows you to manage all the control systems and provides Honda Smartphone Voice Control connectivity for Android and iOS devices.
The lighting is based on full LED headlights, the direction indicators switch off automatically and also integrate the emergency braking signaling system.
