In Bellaria, Abbiati / Andeatta and Menegatti / Gottardi stand out

After yesterday’s qualifying, today was the day dedicated to the main draw; 24 matches were played, both in the women’s and men’s draws. Matches that inflamed the many fans who flocked to the stands of the Centrale of the Polo Est Village to enjoy the great spectacle of Italian beach volleyball.

There were many ideas that characterized this second day, starting with the confirmation arrived in the men’s draw by the reigning Italian champions Andrea Abbiati and Tiziano Andreatta who, thanks to today’s three successes, directly won a place in the semifinals. The same result was also achieved by Enrico Rossi and Marco Caminati who, in great shape, overtook Manni / Vanni, Lupo / Ranghieri and Cecchini / Ingrosso. The other two semifinalist pairs of the men’s draw will instead come out of the challenges scheduled for tomorrow which will see Daniele Lupo and Alex Ranghieri opposing Davide Benzi and Carlo Bonifazi (9.15 am) and Matteo Ingrosso and Davide Dal Molin against Matteo Cecchini and Paolo Ingrosso (10.15).

Great show in the main draw also in the women’s draw. Marta Menegatti and Valentina Gottardi did not betray the expectations. In fact, the blues have booked a place in the semifinal by virtue of the three important victories obtained in the order against Franzoso / Sambin, Balducci / Leonardi and Benazzi / Breidenbach, with this last match, concluded at the tie break (18-21, 21-19 , 17-15), which really gave moments of great beach volleyball. The surprise of the day was the qualification in the semifinals of the couple from the Republic of Vanuatu, composed of Toko Sherysyn and Pata Miller. The athletes coached by Federica Tonon played a great beach volleyball, overcoming first Michieletto / Lantignotti, then Rubini / Godenzoni and Pereyra / Galay. The last places in the semifinals will come out of the winners of the matches scheduled for tomorrow morning that will see Michela Lantignotti and Francesca Michieletto face off against the Argentine Fernanda Pereyra and Ana Gallay (8.30 am) and Alice Gradini and Federica Frasca against Giada Benazzi and Sara Breidenbach.
