Prime Video has just wrapped up a fantastic third season of The Boys, and many viewers have been shocked by the events of the final episode – including the storyline of Patriot (Antony Starr) and dad Soldatino (Jensen Ackles) and a departure of some main characters.

During the finale, Toy Soldier is ready to kill the leader of the Seven and everyone in his vicinity, until Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) does not intervene by saving everyone present. The series makes us believe she was dead, until Annie (Erin Moriarty) does not visit her. We also discover that she is back with her girlfriend Elena, and that she is leaving New York to finally escape from Patriot.

In a new interview, the creator of the show Eric Kripke reveals exactly why “it was time” for Queen Maeve to go:
“I never thought about killing Maeve, from the start. We were intentionally building a happy ending for her, always, for many reasons. The first is that she deserved it. Believe it or not, The Boys is a universe. moral, and when you make the right choices, you get rewarded, and she deserved a happy ending with Elena “.
