“It will drive you crazy!”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan came back to talk about Isle of the Deadthe spin-off of The Walking Dead that will show us Negan travel together with Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) in one New York post apocalyptic.

Replying on Twitterto a fan who made a video dedicated to Negan, the actor said he was excited about the first season. Here are his words:

Sounds cool! Here’s what I can say about #IsleoftheDead. I am MORE than excited. Excited to continue this journey with TWD extension as Negan. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working with Lauren Cohan again. We read the season, it will blow your mind. I repeat, IT WILL BLOW YOU OUT.

Eli Jorne will be the showrunner of the spin-off series produced by Scott Gimple, chief content officer of the TWD Universe. The filming is expected to begin this July in New York. The airing of the first season should take place during the first months of 2023.

The official synopsis of Isle of the Dead:

Isle of the Dead will show us Maggie and Negan intent on traveling in one manhattan post-apocalyptic now separated from the mainland for a very long time. The city will obviously be populated by zombies, but there will also be plenty of survivors of one New York now in the throes of anarchy and terror.


Produced by AMC Studios, based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. In the United States The Walking Dead it shattered ratings records over the course of ten seasons.
