Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck arrived in Venice on Thursday. “Beaming and Holding Hands” made their way to the Venice International Film Festival, writes the Reuters agency.
“While sitting in the water taxi, the couple hugged for a moment after Affleck put his arm around Lopez,” the agency wrote. The couple’s journey to the luxury hotel was followed by a crowd of photojournalists and camera operators who followed them on their boats.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reawakened mutual interest in the second half of June when they were caught by paparazzi at one of the Malibu restaurants in Los Angeles County.
The International Film Festival is held in Venice. Affleck’s visit is related to the premiere of Ridley Scott’s latest film “The Last Duel”, one of the authors of the script is Affleck. The film, set in the 14th century, also stars Jodie Comer, Adam Driver and Aflleck’s dear friend Matt Damon, who also co-wrote the film.
The premiere of “The Last Duel” will take place on Friday. According to the Reuters agency, journalists expect Jennifer Lopez to appear alongside the actor and screenwriter on the red carpet.
Bennifer. How did Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck meet?
Lopez and Affleck met in 2001 on the set of Martin Brest’s “Gigli”. The film “won” six Golden Raspberries in 2004 and the title of the worst “comedy” of the 25th anniversary of the Golden Raspberries, it was also nominated in 2010 in the category of the worst film of the decade. Filming of “Gigli” began a few weeks after Lopez married her second husband, Cris Judd (they divorced in June 2002), and in November 2002 Affleck proposed to the singer. The wedding was scheduled for September 14, 2003, but was canceled. One of the reasons was the huge media coverage.
In early 2004, the artists’ union broke up. The singer confessed in later interviews that for the first time she had a broken heart. One of the reasons for the breakup was that Affleck was uncomfortable with such intense tabloid interest. “At other times, under different circumstances, who knows what could have happened, but it was sincere love,” she told People in December 2016.
