Lech Poznań is one step away from the first winter strengthening. Kristoffer Velde, the Norwegian winger from FK Haugesund, is to become the new player of the leader of PKO BP Ekstraklasa. According to Interia, Velde is to sign a three-year contract this Thursday.
Recently, Tomasz Włodarczyk from the Meczyki.pl portal and Dawid Dobrasz from “Głos Wielkopolski” informed about the transfer. As determined by Interia, the Norwegian competitor will appear on Bulgarianskaya on Wednesday when he begins his two-day medical tests. These – as planned – should end on Thursday. As soon as the test results are positive, the Norwegian will sign the contract. According to our information, the contract is to run for three years.
The amount of transfer is also very impressive. Our Norwegian sources argue that Lech will pay as much as EUR 1 million for Velde, or PLN 4.55 million. We obtained the same information from one of the employees of Kolejorz. So if the transfer is successful, the 22-year-old will become one of the most expensive players in the history of Ekstraklasa. Only Bartosz Slisz, Lirim Kastrati, Adriel Ba Loua and Ariel Borysiuk cost more than him, while Rafał Murawski and Jakub Świerczok cost the same.
As we hear on Bułgarska St., the player has been observed for a year. In Norway, Lech’s scouts and members of the training staff as well as sports director Tomasz Rząsa visited several times, who appreciated the footballer’s skills in the one-on-one game, very good technical training and high efficiency. Velde was also supposed to be interested in one of the clubs of the Russian Priemjer-League, but in the negotiations it was Kolejorz who showed the greatest determination.
Velde is a homegrown of FK Haugesund. He joined the first team in 2017. In the meantime, he was on loan to another Norwegian club, Nest-Sotra IL. In the last season, he played 29 league games, in which he scored seven goals and recorded 11 assists.
In 2017, he also made two appearances for the Norwegian national team U18 (interestingly enough, one of them was against … Poland). Transfermarkt.de estimates it at 900,000. euro.
