Although the artist did not sparkle this year at official gala events and the red carpet, her everyday stylizations turned out to be so interesting that it was People magazine that recognized her as the best-dressed star this year. Lady Gaga defeated Zendaya, Leslie Odom Jr., Anya Taylor-Joy, Mindy Kaling, Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, HER, Dan Levy and Regina King in the fight for this title.
“This year, Lady Gaga showed a whole spectrum of beautiful stylizations – without appearing on the red carpet. The 35-year-old performer proudly walked the streets in fashionable designs that were complemented by elegant hairstyles, sky-high heels and retro accessories” – we read in the justification published by People magazine.
Indeed, the singer did not need lavish parties and red carpets to set the chic this year, the streets of New York, Rome and Milan were enough for this. In the latter two cities, she spent a lot of time working on the set of “House of Gucci,” in which she played the role of Patrizia Reggiani, ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci. Therefore, in addition to Gaga’s typical eccentric outfits, in this year’s stylizations you could also see the spirit of Italian style from the 90s. Noteworthy, for example, is a navy blue polka dot dress with white cuffs and a collar. This outfit could well be among her movie costumes, as well as the white pinstripe suit of Jean Paul Gaultier.
The title of the style icon also pays tribute to Lady Gaga’s talent for blending different styles. The artist showed it when she appeared in a minimalist black dress designed by Magda Butrym, which she broke with with flashy, sky-high wedge ankle boots. Gaga also has an unusual approach to sportswear. When she put on a short, sporty top and blue cycling leggings, she enhanced the look with a miniature white, quilted handbag and high wedge boots.
Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, Mindy Kaling, Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, HER and Regina King were also included in this year’s ranking of the ten best-dressed stars of People magazine. A modest representation of men are Dan Levy and Leslie Odom Jr. (PAP Life)
