«Let’s not miss this opportunity» – Il Golfo 24

An electoral campaign starts this morning in Ischia which – for the reasons we have now explained to the point of boredom – promises to be the most soporific since the postwar period. To open the dance is the candidate for mayor Gennaro Savio, who at 11 at the bar “La Stuzzicheria” will illustrate the reasons for his decision to take the field to the administrative scheduled for next 12 June. Savio himself then launched a heartfelt appeal to the Ischian voters in which he begins as follows: “Dear citizens of the Municipality of Ischia and the entire island, the electoral campaign that will see me engaged together with my candidates for the office of councilor from here until the next June 12, the day in which we are called to the polls for the renewal of the mayor and the municipal council of Ischia, will certainly be one of the hardest and most demanding of my life. First of all because it is the first without my dear father Domenico Savio, and then because, unlike many candidates of Enzo Ferrandino’s side who are professionals and entrepreneurs with an enormous free time, my candidates and I are generally seasonal workers who spend most of the day at work “.

Then the aspiring mayor adds and concludes: “For these reasons and being that with our candidacy we want to give the possibility to the working class of Ischia and the island and to the weakest in society to finally be present in the next civic forum, I appeal to citizens Ischitans and islanders so that, each according to their possibilities and free time available, they want to give me a hand. To do so, you can contact me at 3395683542. Also because in the City Council we will represent the only opposition force and in addition to being the representatives of all the people, we will be the spokespersons of the requests of all citizens. I await your phone calls. Let’s not miss this historic opportunity to bring the voice of the working class to the Civic Forum of Ischia. I embrace you all ”.
