Manchester United are looking for a temporary coach. There are five names of foreign trainers on the list of candidates.
Michael Carrick took over after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired. The club immediately announced that the Englishman became the first coach only for a moment. At Old Trafford, they are looking for a more experienced coach to lead the team until the end of this season.
Recently, the media reported that Manchester United are talking to Ernesto Valverde. The Spaniard has been unemployed since his dismissal from Barcelona in early 2020. According to “The Mirror”, the 57-year-old has a good chance of taking over the team.
The English newspaper claims that the club also met four other candidates. These are Ralf Rangnick, Lucien Favre, Paulo Fonseca and Rudi Garcia.
The last one is given the best chance. The French has a lot of experience – in the past he worked in Lille, Roma or Olympique Lyon, with which he reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
– The 57-year-old seems to be one of the obvious choices. He is available, has been successful in the past, and prefers an attractive style of play. In addition, he speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian, which would allow him to navigate fluently in the multicultural locker room – writes “The Mirror”.
The newspaper, on the other hand, does not give much chance of staying in Carrick’s position longer. In her opinion, after the adventure with Solskjaer, the heads of MU will be more cautious about the possible entrusting of the former football player of the club, who in addition has a very modest coaching experience.
