The mysterious Soderbergh project was announced on September 2 by the director of the Toronto festival, Joana Vincente and Cameron Bailey. According to their words, the planned premiere is the result of a top-secret collaboration with Soderbergh. Steven Soderbergh is a very prolific artist – in the last two years alone, he has directed as many as four films: “High Flights”, “Laundry”, “Let them talk” and recently “No Sudden Move”. His next production is also completed, David Koepp’s crime thriller “Kimi” starring Zoe Kravitz.
The 46th edition of TIFF will be held from 9 to 18 September. Soderbergh will be one of the festival’s many guests. His latest film, “Dune”, will be promoted here by Denis Villeneuve, who will be appearing in Toronto in the company of the star of the production, Rebecca Ferguson.
Among other expected guests are, among others Dionne Warwick, Jessica Chastain, Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Sigourney Weaver and the cast of “Dear Evanie Hansen”.
