The attempt, the first of its kind since last October, was registered by the tracking systems of the countries in the region. It was criticized by the USA, South Korea and Japan.

Reuters agency recalls that the first attempt with the hypersonic missile regime Kim Jong Un made – according to KCNA – in September by joining the military race of the world’s leading powers.

Hypersonic missiles, unlike ballistic ones, which reach outer space to hit a target almost vertically, they fly relatively low to the ground, reaching five times the speed of sound, i.e. about 6,200 km / h.

The last attempt “will allow to accelerate the task of modernizing our country’s strategic forces” – emphasized in the KCNA communiqué.

According to the agency, in the last phase of the flight, the warhead separated from the rocket and “precisely hit the target” about 700 km away.
