After a year off and a ceremony postponed due to the pandemic, i Governors Awards are back: the awards, which precede the Oscars by a few months, celebrate the careers of the most important stars of cinema, this year honoring Michael J. Fox, Diane Warren, Euzhan Palcy and Peter Weir at the Fairmont Century Plaza. To pay homage to them, a very long parade of contemporary stars, from the newly single Olivia Wilde – fresh from breaking up with Harry Styles – to Ana de Armas: the director appeared radiant in a romantic black & white dress by Erdemwith a mesh detail on the décolleté.

Even the interpreter of Marilyn Monroe in Blonde made the same color choices, sporting a long dress by Louis Vuitton with a velvet cut out top and a skirt studded with pearly appliqués. Black and white seems to be a real leitmotif on the red carpet of the Governors Awards, not only this year, also reinterpreted by Cate Blanchett with its layered look in materials and style – already sported by the actress at the Venice Film Festival in 2020 – by Alexander McQueen, and from Zoe Kazan in Christian Diorwhich follows the trend – more or less recent – of the «covertissime».
