PS5 may receive an improved interface. Sony is preparing a new technology

The Japanese manufacturer is constantly working on the systematic improvement of the PS5. Currently, there is more and more talk about a new solution that will allow players to quickly switch between applications. The engineers’ goal is to ensure the smoothest possible experience when using the console.

With PlayStation 5 in mind, Sony has prepared a completely new user interface that has a number of interesting options. It turns out, however, that the company has not finished work on the project. Thanks to further new solutions, the UI can be expanded soon.

The latest patent filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment suggests the possibility of switching between applications – so that the player does not have to end the game, but would be free to use all programs.

The Japanese document mentions that the main assumption of the technology is the introduction of automatic transition to individual applications – in this case, an additional window will be used. The user will not be forced to turn off the game or enter the main menu.

Sony plans to offer an option that will allow players to jump between production and application very quickly. The information presented suggests that the company is developing a picture-in-picture solution, a function known, inter alia, from modern televisions. Recall that we recently informed about another patent filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office – the manufacturer of PlayStation may be preparing to introduce additional side panels to the PS5.
