QATAR 2022, ZIELINSKI AND THE TENSION AGAINST ARGENTINA

In a few hours, Poland will play the quarterfinals against Francethanks to the passage of the group to the photo finish against Mexico and Saudi Arabia, in a thrilling ending told through a curious interview given by the Napoli footballer Piotr Zielinski, after the match against Argentina. A match valid for the third and final day of the group stage.

THE TENSION
A few minutes from the end, Poland and Mexico were tied for second in the standings on equal points, with the same goal difference and the direct confrontation in a draw, but with the Europeans ahead due to the fewer yellow cards received (five against seven for the Mexicans). An intense moment to say the least for those who lived it on the pitch, as can be understood from the words of Zielinski, busy in those situations having to stem a certain Leo Messi: “It wasn’t easy to manage the wait. From the bench they were yelling at us not to get another yellow cardthen not to concede goals, because it could have been decisive for qualification. But how do you think when you have against Messi? He feints you, your head spins, you might miss a foul. It didn’t happen and it went well. Then Arabia scored and everything was calmer.

THE TEMPTATION
The tension in those moments was so strong, that Zielinski was tempted… to ask his opponents for a favor: “At one point I was about to ask the Argentines who attend the Italian championship to slow down. They were already sure of first place. Then I brakedwould have been unsportsmanlike. I don’t like these things.”
Now the head is only to France: “At this point we try. We must enjoy the moment without limiting ourselves. In a single game, anything can happenAnd”.
