Sienna Miller confesses: “If it hadn’t been for Jude Law, I would have been harassed by Weinstein”

Sienna Miller is experiencing a golden age: protagonist of the series Anatomy of a scandal (Netflix), has returned to center stage. Professionally, of course, but also for some statements to the The Guardian: the 40-year-old actress, in fact, retraced the tormented love story (with betrayal) with Jude Law (currently at the cinema with Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets). “I was his girlfriend and this protected me”: the phrase refers to the possibility of being sexually abused by producer Harvey Weinstein, currently sentenced to 23 years for rape offenses.

According to the blonde, however, Jude Law was one of the highlights of Weinstein’s stablethanks to films of the caliber de The talent of mr. Ripley And Cold Mountain, and that would protect her from the predator’s clutches. She too, in the meantime, had turned Factory Girlagain for the producer, so she had entered his circle but she referred to him as “Dad”a nickname that, according to her, would help her to desexualize the relationship.

The actress remembers an episode that saw her in tears: during rehearsals for the film Weinstein ordered her to drop everything and go to her office. He sent a car and she had to obey. She found herself so, quietly, in her chair while he loomed over her yelling at her that she should cut social life to have better performances in the takes. He screamed to the point that he left her speechless after slamming the door violently. And this, according to the actress’s recollections, left her sobbingonly to return to her to tell her that he is very proud (and go away slamming the door behind her again).

In short, according to him, this is a rite of passage: “You weren’t really someone until Weinstein made you cry.” Fortunately, those times seem to be over.
