This great hit from the repertoire of Janis Joplin has been performed many times during castings for entertainment programs. I’m talking about the piece “Piece of My Heart”. 51-year-old participant of “America’s Got Talent” Anica literally pushed the jurors into their seats with her performance. See how she coped.
Program “America’s Got Talent” debuted in the USA in 2006. Already from the first season it gained enormous popularity all over the world. The jury of the 16th edition is composed of: Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel.
Janis Joplin she was born on January 19, 1943 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was harassed and bullied by her peers for most of her school life. All because of a not-so-nice appearance. This made Joplin grow into a very strong personality. When she turned 20, she left her homeland and started life on her own. She met a group of young people in whom she found understanding and acceptance. Together with them, she rebelled against all the norms that prevailed in the United States at that time.
In the 1960s, she made a living playing in bars and clubs. Then, as a vocalist, she joined the little-known blues-rock band Big Brother & the Holding Compan, with which she released an album in 1967. A year later she left the band and began a solo career. She assisted the Kozmic Blues Band, and then the Full Tilt Boogie Band. One of her greatest achievements was the first stop of Woodstock in 1969.
Janis was very eccentric, uncompromising and lively. Until now, many people have argued that no one has sung or sang the blues as vividly as she does. She was one of the first women to make a career in such a short time. Her biggest hits were: “Piece of My Heart”, “Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)”, “Cry Baby”, “Me and Bobby McGee” , if “Mercedes Benz”.
The artist died on October 4, 1970 in Los Angeles, at the age of 27. The immediate cause of death was a heroin overdose.
