The Blind Side is a film that tells the true story of Michael Oher, famous American football player. It is a work full of emotions and professionally directed, to best represent and try to involve the viewer. The Blind Side: the plot

The film tells the true story of Michael Oher, the famous American football player in the role of offensive tackle: he has the responsibility of protecting the quarterback from opposing tackles. The son of a drug addict mother, thanks to the help of a friend, he manages to get admitted to a Catholic school in Memphis, Tennessee. In this school the performance is very important and he certainly does not have an easy start, indeed, the results are bad. Thus, what was supposed to be a temporary situation, turns into a permanent transfer in the family, and the boy begins to improve even at school and, after a somewhat slow start, he begins to excel also in the American Football. This leads him to receive many offers from various American universities that, in real life, lead him to the NFL. To help him in this arduous task of being able to successfully overcome every subject, a decisive and enterprising personality: Leigh Anne Tuhoyplayed by an amazing Sandra Bullockwho must raise him as his legal guardian.

It goes without saying that the story is very moving and full of emotions. Sandra’s interpretation Bullock is perfect, so much so that thanks to her character in this film she will win theOscar such as Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2009. And to think that when he was offered the role, he initially refused it, only to think about it shortly after. The role of Michael, on the other hand, was entrusted to Quinton Aaronwho did not betray expectations and managed to clearly show all the emotional characteristics of the character, from an innate protective instinct to the fragility due to a really difficult childhood.

Throughout the film, the plot focuses on touching moments. The boy, the protagonist, will be able to make his way with prejudices, and will be able to overcome the barrier of insecurities to redeem himself with those people who considered him an anonymous person with no potential. Also featured in the film is a great 360-degree working by director John Lee Hancockwhich allows us to savor the dynamics that exist between the character of Michael and the family Leigh.

The ending of the social drama

Approached by the attentions of the greatest technicians from several prominent American colleges, Michael doesn’t know who to choose. The epilogue of the story sees the protagonist establish himself as a professional of NFL with authentic scenes taken from Michael’s real life Oher. At the end of this path it emerges the importance of the family, which marks the path of the protagonist. A journey where study and sport proceed in parallel, as a further teaching of how much these two factors represent two sides of the same coin.

He has a good soul, which is enough to wake up with decision to get up and, later, find yourself in front of a totally changed boy, ready for anything. And this is a trait that will help him find a place in the world of American football, where team spirit and protection of fellow ballers are essential components. The keystone in The Blind Side lies in going through the most important and decisive stages of Michael’s inner growth through the eyes of Leigh.
