The Twitter profile @evanscontent has in fact shared a small excerpt from Empire Magazine in which we read that a prequel to the film focusing on the character of Chris Evans would be in development, with the writers of Deadpool Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick on board the project.
In the cast of The Gray Man along with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans we also find Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanus, Julia Butters and the aforementioned Ana de Armas and Regé-Jean Page.
Anthony and Joe will also be producers with their AGBO company and will direct the film based on a screenplay by Joe with a rehash by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, authors of the films of Captain America and of Avengers directed by the two brothers.
The project was developed by the New Regency for Brad Pitt and James Gray years ago, but then stalled.
Below you will find the official synopsis:
The Gray Man is CIA Agent Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), aka, Sierra Six. Ripped out of a federal penitentiary and recruited by his manager, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), Gentry was formerly a highly qualified Agency licensed mercenary. But now the situation has changed and the target is Six, hunted around the world by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former CIA agent, who will stop at nothing to eliminate him. Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) is alongside him. You will need it.
