This is the second league title for Atletico Mineiro. They were happy about the first 50 years ago. In 1977, 1980 and 1999 Atletico advanced to the final of the Brazilian Championship, but then they were overtaken by São Paulo (win on penalties), Flamengo and Corinthians. In 2012 and 2015, the team from Mineiro was also the runner-up.
Atletico Mineiro were leading the Brazilian league table from Matchday 15 when they beat Juventude 2-1 away from home, never losing their leadership position since then. In 36 games played, he has 25 wins, six draws and five defeats.
In 2005, the Brazilian team was relegated from the top league and had to rebuild their position in the country. He had huge financial problems then, and now he can enjoy great success.
