On April 3, Hungarians will go to the polls to decide whether Viktor Orbán should remain prime minister for the fourth consecutive term. For the first time since taking power in 2010, Orban will have to face the united front of opposition parties in elections.

Recent polls show a smooth fight between Fidesz and the united opposition. In the last two studies of the Median studio from October and December last year. Viktor Orban’s party was losing 3 and 1 percentage point, respectively.

Orbán, currently the longest-serving head of government in the EU, promises to continue his policy, which has worsened relations with the European community. The opposition’s candidate for prime minister is Péter Márki-Zay, mayor of Hódmezővásárhely.
